You have become part of our family, by being such a big part of the momentous time, and day that has been Mum’s farewell.

The day was beautiful, and you did a wonderful job of bringing us all together in safe space. Allowing us to grieve, laugh, and remember.

Your attention to detail, kindness, sense of humour, and care was second to none. And I loved the way your read the room and made the time flow perfectly with who was there.

Thank you so much for making Nick's service so personal and incredibly meaningful - your attention to detail almost felt as if you'd known Nick personally. Your professionalism precedes you Jo!

The service and the wake were incredibly telling, and we were fortunate to have such beautiful weather all day. Sorry you couldn't make it to the wake.

The eulogies were touching and truly captured the essence of Nick, which provided me with some comfort.

Nick was a well-loved individual who was held in high regard by those who truly knew him. The turnout on Thursday showed that he was respected and cherished by many, even if he was not always fully understood.

My main goal was to celebrate Nick’s life and give him a send off that he would be proud of and I feel we achieved that.

I also wanted to thank you for choosing celebrant Joanne Bamford for us. I was, as you may recall, anxious that your system had changed slightly since we’d had my father’s funeral (where we were given a list of celebrants to choose from) but my anxiety was very misplaced. Joanne was perfect, from her very first phone call, meeting with us, being at the end of the phone and of course delivering the service just as we’d wanted on the day. Her kindness, compassion and understanding meant the world to us at what is a very emotional and sometimes tricky time.

Dear Jo,
I just have to write this morning to say a huge thank you for presenting the wonderful celebration of our darling Bill’s life yesterday . So many people said to me that they felt you knew him which made it even more personal. Your guidance on how best to present the service was invaluable and you certainly held our hands throughout the preparation which was so reassuring and I woke yesterday knowing that you and Spencer had it well in hand. You both managed it with such precision and dignity but also so much compassion that so many people said they felt it was the best funeral service they had ever attended. Having Pip there was just wonderful too …

We had a lovely celebratory Wake for him here with everybody outside enjoying the garden and Thomas sang more so all in all it was the perfect day …..I am just so thrilled that we were able to give Bill such a truly amazing send off….it is all I had dreamed of and more so thank you, thank you for your part in making it so special.

I just wanted to say a massive big thank you, from all of the Tatnell family, for making Friday so lovely. You really are a very special person, you are extremely empathetic, who took the time to listen to what we wanted and really "got" our family. Every one of the people who came, all said how personal and lovely the service was and that they had not experienced one like that before. I don't know about that as don't have a lot of experience in this field, thank god, but all I do know is that I left the crem with no regrets and a feeling of peace that my dad would have been proud of everything.

Hi Jo, Thank you very much for delivering John's funeral service last Tuesday, and all your help preparing for it. I was able to view the web cast live and everyone I have spoken to agrees with me what a great job you did, how incredibly respectful you were and how moving the service was. I wish I could have been there to meet you and thank you in person. I was also really pleased to learn that the flowers on the coffin were not cremated!! and that the people who came to the funeral were each able to take some of John's flowers. That was a great thing to happen. And I love the thought that the fox might have been John!

I just wanted to thank you again for conducting Dad’s funeral service.

I received a lot of comfort from how you handled the service - you were a very reassuring presence and certainly helped me get through the service. You were right - the opening comments did settle me down and reinforced that although a sad occasion it was also a celebration of Dad’s life and it was fine to smile. I also really liked the way you commented on mine and Karen’s tribute - it made fe feel you had really read and understood how much Dad meant to both of us.

Thanks you also for pointing out the white feather that dropped as I left the service - I’ve also seen a couple since!

Really, I just want to say, whilst I’m not bawling my eyes out, that you do a fantastic job and you’ve helped me enormously during a very difficult time.

“Jo could not have been a better choice for us in taking the service at my dads funeral. When she visited with my mum, sister and I to plan the service she put us at ease and spent time with us going through everything required.

On the eve of the funeral she messaged us to check in and then on the actual day she was just fantastic. From taking care of my young nephew when everything got too much for him, to putting me at ease so that I was able to read the poem I had chosen, I would not have been able to do it without her support.

After the service I can’t tell you how many people commented on how well it had gone and how lovely it had been as a celebration to my dad, which was very much down to Jo.

I can’t thank Jo enough for making what was a terribly difficult day that much easier to deal with.”

Hello Jo,

Just wanted to say thank you so much for such a heart warming funeral service yesterday. You really were excellent and spoke with true feeling and got everything spot on!

I’m so pleased with how everything went…. Especially how I managed my tribute as I was so far out of my comfort zone. I’ve had many of Dads friends and ex-colleagues saying how “ lovely” a service it was and that the chapel felt full of love for Dad.

I’m very sorry I got side tracked and didn’t get to speak to you properly after the funeral on Tuesday.

I wanted to email to thank you. For all your help and involvement from when we first met you at Melissa’s, to the day itself. You got us through it and you have such a warm friendly nature, it shows how much you care about making sure the whole thing goes well and the person gets the send-off they deserve. You were extremely helpful to me and Melissa and really helped to get us through the speech and the whole thing. From the point where we arrived in the car you helped to put us at ease. It's such a weird day with a lot going through our heads and we were a bit like headless teary chickens at first! I also loved how you conducted it all and your reading of the eulogy. A lot of our friends and family commented afterwards about how great you were and what you brought to the funeral. To think that someone who didn’t know him personally could have that impact is something. You do such an important and valuable job so well, and I just wanted to thank you for everything.

It is hard to believe a week has passed since our farewell service for Nigel. I would like to thank you so much for your sensitive and caring input into the preparation and delivery of the celebration of Nigel’s life.

You captured all that was special about Nigel and spoke in such a warm and appropriate manner throughout the service and communications with us, such as: the timely email below; the prompt to the congregation that laughter was indeed fitting in this ceremony; the thanks to all near and far and the Serv Kent team; the expression of pride on our behalf for our girls brave delivering the memories of their dad; the way you stepped into a better position to appreciate the slide presentation and your patience as you waited for the last of the mourners to pay their respects.

We could not of wished for a better celebrant to lead us through this emotional but at the same time uplifting service.

I would really appreciate the words of the Blessing to read to myself at times when I am at a loss for direction.

I must put a few words together to say thank you for the superb job you did in conducting dad's celebration of life.

From our first meeting right through to the big day, you put us at ease in every step of the service.

I won't forget when we were about to carry dad into the Chapel and I could hear the entrance music loud and clear.

The sound quality was great throughout the service, the quality of the photos on the slide show were excellent as was the video from Gary in Sidney.

How you never started to sing the poem " you'll never walk alone " must have been difficult !!.

You spoke about dad as if you had known him for years, that is a great talent you have.

There were tears and laughter throughout the service, which made in my humble opinion a great send off and celebration of life for dad.

It was a shame that we couldn't buy you a drink afterwards, but being as good as you are, it's understandable that you are busy.

Monsters by James Blunt just said it all for me.
